VOTE for David Cook

OK so I keep forgetting to post my David Cook hometown visit pictures.
For those who do not know already David Cook went to my old high school. He was a freshman when I was a senior. I had no idea who he was but he was/is friends with my brother and my mom knew him and his brother since she is a secretary at the high school.

Well On May 9, 2008 David Cook came back to Blue Springs to do his hometown visit for American Idol. My mom was in charge of giving out the tickets at the high school so she was excited but stressed all week. My brother, Daniel, and sister in law flew into town from LA for Mother's Day and were excited that it was also the same weekend as David Cook's visit. It was a fun weekend. My friend Katie made us all matching tee-shirts. They said Vote for David Cook on the front and the back said, "Blue Springs, MO Hometown Concert May 9, 2008." I thought it would make a nice memory of the day. We had Ella a special shirt made that said "David Cook knows my Uncle Bubby"

Uncle Bubby

My mom had no idea that they were coming and we all surprised her on Friday at school. She busted into tears when she saw Daniel and Brittany.

Surprise

We had lunch at the school and then we went and got our seats in the stadium. We were able to get really good seats, but Ella was tired of all the screaming before it even started so we spent most of our time by the bathrooms. She did like listening to David Cook sing though. She can recognize him when she sees him on TV.

So while we were back by the bathrooms we saw David Cook come by in the parade right in front of us. It was pretty exciting. After the parade finished he come down onto the field. The city recognized him and gave him some awards. Then he sang 3 songs. My aunt was really close and was able to get a great picture of him.

After the hometown concert we rushed to the Royals game where David was going to throw out the first pitch and sing "Take Me Out to the Ballgame" Ella got really excited when they played the American Idol music. She loves that show. They showed the whole thing on the big jumbotron screen. You could tell David was so excited to be given this opportunity. It was fun to watch. Ella didn't make it to the 7th inning when he sang, but I heard it was really good. By that time we were home in bed.

David Cook

So vote for David Cook tonight. I think no matter what happens tomorrow night, he will still probably make an album and I will definitly buy it.

VOTE FOR DAVID COOK! and vote for Andrew Cook next year. :-)
