After I wrapped the presents in her homemade wrapping paper, Ella decided it would be fun to hide Dave's present in her closet and surprise him. I thought it was sweet that she thought this up on her own. When she heard the garage door come up she got so excited and ran to her room to surprise Daddy. She flung open the closet and yelled, "Surprise". It was so fun to see her excited to give a gift since usually she is the one receiving a present.
Ella also helped me make a cake for Dave and even though she doesn't like cake or frosting she had a great time helping me decorate the cake. After the cake could handle no more frosting, I let her practice squeezing out the frosting onto a plate. She was concentrating so hard on doing it just right. She didn't make a mess at all and was really careful. She was taking it very seriously. Maybe we'll see her on Ace of Cakes one day.

When we got to the party for Paw Paw and all the dads later that night, Ella insisted on putting candles in the Father's Day cake, and we all had to sing. She'll be ready for her birthday in a few weeks.

Well it was a wonderful Father's Day. Happy late Father's Day to all you dads and future dads out there. Dave is such a wonderful father and husband. I just couldn't get through my days without him. I love you Dave. Happy Father's Day again.
